Wildlife officials are concerned about the potential impact introduced species will have on native species which have not developed defense mechanisms against an introduced animal.

REPORTED SIGHTINGS OF THE FOLLOWING ANIMAL (DEAD OR ALIVE) SHOULD BE REPORTED TO THE MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT, LANDS & PARKS (NANAIMO, BC)

ANIMALS INTRODUCED INTO BRITISH COLUMBIA THAT POSE A THREAT TO PROPERTY AND NATIVE WILDLIFE

  • AMERICAN BULLFROG
  • SNAPPING TURTLES
  • NORTH AMERICAN OPOSSUM
  • EASTERN COTTONTAIL
  • EUROPEAN RABBIT
  • NUTRIA
  • GRAY SQUIRRELS
  • BLACK-BILLED MAGPIE
  • HOUSE SPARROW
  • EUROPEAN STARLING
  • ROCK DOVE
  • BROWNHEADED COWBIRD

IT IS IMPORTANT TO REALIZE THE IMPACT OF INTRODUCED SPECIES

IT IS AN OFFENCE TO TRANSPORT WILDLIFE FROM THE MAINLAND TO VANCOUVER ISLAND, OR FROM ISLAND TO ISLAND, WITHOUT A PERMIT.
